The 2019 Polaris RMK Snowmobile
Last week, while I was still hesitating in my Internet research to make my choice of snowmobile "Polaris dealers Quebec", I went to Thibault Marine Inc., a dealer of recreational vehicles located in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, in the Laurentians, near Mont-Tremblant and Saint-Jérôme. A sales representative immediately directed me to the 2019 Pro RMK 850. Why? He told me that the Polaris have a lot of benefits and remain flexible and maneuverable on just about any snow surface.
Then we took the time to discuss this model a little longer. I was pleased to learn that this snowmobile has stood the test of time and provides a lot of stability during a drive. In addition, when it comes to the engine, the expert on the floor immediately mentioned that with an 850 engine, this machine was very powerful and that combined with a 155inch caterpillar, for example, I would have no difficulty to ride any type of snow. He then informed me that the 2019 Pro RMK had been revamped, that the comfort had been improved, the handlebars are slightly higher and that the vehicle now has an overall better visibility.
What really drew my attention is the new Polaris REACT suspension. As the name suggests, it's more "reactive", according to the expert. Indeed, this suspension makes it possible to adjust the width between the skis up to a length of 38 inches. It offers more flexibility in trekking and makes it possible to negotiate the turns more easily. In short, it is more predictive both in off-piste snow than in more rugged trails. We mention that this front suspension is REACT because we also want to point out that with its new forged triangular suspension arms and ski axes, it's the most reactive of all and that there are 16 % less inertia compared to the competition.
To see if all these promises were true, I asked for a test on and off the track. Immediately, I felt a clear difference and a remarkable ease. In fact, the all-new Pro RMK React front suspension offers precise, and effortless driving in deep snow. I effortlessly initiated the lateral flanks of a mountain and, at the end, I felt less tired. I can emphasize beyond any doubt that I was in control, thanks to the precision on the handlebars.
Back from this test, my expert spoke to me again about this React suspension. He mentioned the all-new geometry with an adjustable position from 36 inches up to an overflow at 38 inches, a stabilizer bar designed for much more predictable handling, and a lot of other things. Side by side with other models, I could immediately see the important differences because they are obvious.
This new feature makes it easier to negotiate off-road obstacles, since snowmobiling has always been lightweight, but stiff at the same time with this increased resistance and durability at its platform. In addition, as I was able to test it during my getaway, this snowmobile helps to get up faster on the snow, making it easier to drive upright to see even further and increase the visibility radius. This is pure sport!
In short, my experience at Thibault Marine was conclusive. Both the advice of a pro and my test on the trail and off-road convinced me of the value of this Polaris, but especially of how its new suspension React makes a clear difference. I can warmly recommend this model for 2019.
